Job Description

Responsible for monitoring and managing the risk associated with ExxonMobil’s Upstream Gas or Downstream Crude and Products trading activities. You will provide risk control analysis and reporting for global and regional activities and advising daily on risk positions, value and potential risk / exposure.

Job Requirements

  • Execute daily risk control processes and risk reports working alongside trading to manage market and operational risk
  • Ensure daily data integrity, validate positions, and reconcile data inconsistencies with responsible traders
  • Develop and maintain forward curves and support validation of applicable prices
  • Monitor and report daily mark-to-market, P / L, and position matching (physical vs. paper) reports to management
  • Construct, analyze and validate Value at Risk (VaR) models for complex transactions define / execute periodic stress testing
  • Identify exceptions to established limits and tolerances remedy through authorizations or corrective actions
  • Advise on the financial impact and risk exposure of new strategies, activities or transactions
  • Ensure exchange (ICE, CME, Baltic) and regulatory (MIFID, EMIR, D-F) compliance

Jobs Responsibilities

  • Bachelor’s degree or above (Master’s, MBA, CFA, or Ph.D.) in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Statistics
  • 2-10 years of experience in petrochemical trading, financial or energy risk control/management
  • Attention to detail with a strong process execution focus
  • Strong analytical skills, and knowledge of financial instruments
  • Strong leadership, communications skills, and presence in discussions with senior management
  • Good understanding of decision analysis techniques, statistical modelling and comfort in modelling issues involving risk and uncertainty
  • Good understanding of financial analyses and application to energy transacting
