Job Description:

Assist customers, cut and trim meat to size for display or as ordered by customers, provide mealtime solutions through product knowledge and culinary training. Role model and demonstrate the Company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties as listed on daily tour sheet
  • Open the section
  • Sell meat and fish
  • Maintain cases/cooler and work area between customers, including stocking, restocking, loading ice, finishing, closing, and cleaning
  • Answer telephones
  • Make, stuff, and wrap meat products
  • Cook meat samples
  • Prepare self-serve: pre-wrapped fish
  • Stock frozen load
  • Tray fish for the next day
  • Customer Service:
  • Provide information on products to aid customers in purchasing meat and seafood

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or up to one month related experience or training; or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis and overtime as needed
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with food service terms and processes
  • Familiarity with general product knowledge and culinary practices
  • Any licenses or certificates required by federal and/or state
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
  • Six months food service experience
  • Six months customer service experience
  • Familiarity with meat products
  • Related retail experience
